Consuelo Lepauw

A Very Special Holiday Evening on the Cliff

Sparkling cocktails and good conversation accompanied by a special wine tasting offered by Eoin O’Donnell with Elevage Wines launched a very festive evening at The Cliff Dwellers on the last day of November 2022. Then, Chef Victor and our staff served a fine array of holiday dishes to fill the gathering of members and guests with gastronomic comfort and joy.

The excitement and beauty of the night reached its apex as we welcomed Franco-American violinist Consuelo Lepauw for a special violin concert. The program included solo violin works from Bach to the 20th Century, including J.S, Bach, Partita no. 2 in d minor, and Eugene Ysaye, Sonata no.2.

Consuelo is the third generation of a family of musicians. Her grandfather, formerly Principal Violinist at the Opera Garnier de Paris, joined Consuelo’s father, First Violin, as the Viola Soloist at the Orchestre de Paris (Paris Symphony), and her brother George is a concert Pianist.

Continuing her violin studies in the United States, notably at the Boston Conservatory, Consuelo graduated magna cum laude from the Music Conservatory of Bard College with a Master’s Degree in Violin. She has since participated in many festivals, concerts, and recitals in the U.S, Mexico, and more recently in France.

On this evening, to our good fortune, she created a joyful and memorable night of grandmusic and good fellowship atop Chicago at The Cliff Dwellers Club.
