June 5 – (Wednesday) Project Onward Art Exhibition Opening
This exhibition will feature artists from Project Onward which supports the career development of artists with mental and developmental disabilities. Operating as both a studio and gallery at Chicago’s Culture Center, Project Onward supports the work of visual artists who have exceptional talents but face challenges ranging from autism to mental illness.
May 6, 2013: Sculptor John Adduci who works from his Chicago studio, (a former C.T.A. substation in the Old Town neighborhood). He is an internationally recognized artist utilizing the fluidity of metal to express both movement and stability to outdoor sculpture.
Artist Marion Kryczka who teaches at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout Chicago, New York and in Poland.
April 16, 2013: Artists Talk by Jean Souza and Donna M. Hapac
Our first Artists Talk of the year by noted photographic artist Jean Sousa and sculptor Donna M. Hapac. Join us for the talk in the Sullivan Room at 1pm. There will be the usual Tuesday buffet available.
April 3, 2013: Our First Art Opening in the renovated Kiva
Entitled “Inspired by Nature” this show features the photography of Jean Sousa and the sculpture of Donna M. Hapac. The Artists Reception is from 5:30-7:30pm. Come to see the exhibition and stay for dinner.
Jean Sousa is a former museum educator at the Art Institute and recipient of a Cliff Dwellers Fellowship for Artist Residency at Ragdale. Donna M. Hapac is a Chicago artist noted for her sculptures that pay tribute to Nature in forms using wood, reed, waxed linen, cork and other materials.
