SUMMARY:Songs About Buildings and Moods
DESCRIPTION:“Songs About Buildings and Moods” uses storytelling and performance to create a unique series exploring the connection between music and architecture. What do the buildings we create say about us? How does a musical interpretation change our perception of a building? The series airs on PBS stations around the country. This screening at the club includes several buildings from the second season and offers club members a sneak peek before it airs on PBS\, starting in January. \nThe featured buildings include the Wrigley Building\, the Stony Island Arts Bank\, the Driehaus Museum and Biblioteca Vasconcelos in Mexico City. \nFollowing the presentation there will be a brief discussion and talkback with ACM founder Seth Boustead\, and Cliff Dwellers member architect Trish VanderBeke\, President of the Cliff Dwellers Arts Foundation. \nSeth Boustead is the founder and Executive Director of Access Contemporary Music (ACM)\, which created this series. Mr. Boustead is the creator\, host and Executive Producer of the PBS series Songs About Buildings and Moods. \nACM assembles musicians every week to read through\, record and post music by living composers to their website. The idea is to make musicians accessible to composers and composer’s music accessible to the public. \nBar opens 5 PM\nPresentation of the TV show 6 PM\nDiscussion following the show. \nCost: $20 per person\nReservations are required by December 11th by emailing  reservations@cliff-chicago.org\nor calling 312-922-8080.
